We began with the recognition by the General Sub-directorate for the Protection of the Sea depending of the Spanish Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge with its support for the Operation Clean Sweep® (OCS) certification scheme of AENOR, whose licensee in Spain is ANAIP.
Now, we advance with the recognition by the owners of the European OCS scheme:
In this sense, we want to inform to the companies that relied AENOR and are certified according to the principles of the American OCS scheme that the adaptation to the European OCS model will be automatic, as both are based on the same principles.
OCS is a global and voluntary initiative of the plastics value chain, which ANAIP launched in Spain in 2016 and which currently has nearly 300 companies participating in the program.
Its objective is the prevention and reduction of the emissions of primary microplastics into the environment, whether in the form of pellets, flakes, or powdered resin.
The certification of the OCS Program can be granted to every company participating in any of the stages of the supply chain: production, handling, transportation, transformation and recycling.
About thirty organizations, including raw material manufacturers, plastic transformers, transporters, and logistics warehouses, have already certified their OCS commitment, and others are in the initial certification process, already in accordance with the European scheme.
ANAIP and AENOR continue actively collaborating to promote the growth of this European scheme by contributing our experience as pioneer organizations in the certification of the OCS program.
Now, we advance with the recognition by the owners of the European OCS scheme:
- Plastics Europe association of plastics manufacturers in Europe, and
- EUPC, association of European plastic processors, of which ANAIP is a member.
