AENOR has issued the first certificate for a "PEX multilayer piping systems for hot and cold water installations inside buildings" with the particularity of being a multilayer P-type system: Plastic, in which the intermediate layer that separates the two layers of crosslinked polyethylene is a plastic layer of EVOH, not aluminium (which determines the system type M: Metallic)
Both the standards UNE-EN ISO 21003 and SANS 21003, according to which the certificates has been issued, include this possibility and specify the requirements that the system must meet. Additionally, AENOR has previously issued 72 certificates for multilayer M-type systems.
The certificate was granted with date 2018-05-28 to the company JOHN GUEST, LTD., for the system manufactured in its facilities in the United Kingdom in West Drayton and Maidenhead.
These certificates issued by AENOR are under the scope of the accreditation granted by ENAC, the Spanish accreditation body, and by SANAS, the accreditation body of South Africa, which ensures its full recognition in the destination markets.
