In the past and extraordinary year 2020, marked by the pandemic, we had to adjust our activity to the guidelines issued by the World Health Organization (WHO), health authorities and local governments. All of that maintaining special attention to our services for continuing our activities. regarding the Certification of plastic products.
Working at home, we managed the situation to keep the work going on, maintaining the working rhythm as in any other year.
Thus, 668 products were inspected, and 191 inspection visits were carried out. 168 of them were carried out remotely, and another 23 in person at clients' facilities. Take into account that many of them took place between January and March, when occurred the home confinement and its subsequent adjustments.
Regarding the tests, in 2020 more than 7,700 mechanical tests, more than 1,700 chemical tests and about 180 tests related to underfloor heating were completed.
These results have been possible thanks to the involvement of all the personnel in charge, both from the technical services, as well as from the secretariat and the laboratory, and to the proper functioning of the means to work in coordination remotely. Both: between each other and with the clients, consumers, evaluation entities, accreditation entities, etc. to continue developing our activities in a satisfactory way.
Thus, the inspections were postponed until the situation allows it again with all the necessary security guarantees for all the staffs (AENOR’s and of the companies to visit).
Relating to the audit visits, they were also carried out mainly remotely, just for not to delay the process, while waiting to recover on-site activities once trips are allowed and limitations are removed. We wish to return to it promptly.
Regarding Certification Committee’s meetings, since March 2020 all of them have also been held remotely, maintaining the number and programming of previous years.
Finally, in 2020, two new Certification Regulations were approved. We are still active and fully available to our clients.
