Saudi Arabia AENOR opens its doors to
AENOR plastics products certificates

AENOR extends its recognition in SABER as a certification body notified by SASO (standards, metrology and quality organization).

Thus, companies that have plastic products certified by AENOR, thanks to the extension of AENOR's authorization in SABER as a notified body, can request AENOR to issue product and shipping certificates in an easier and faster way, taking advantage of the synergies of both certification schemes.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia requires that all shipments of products included in the Saudi Technical Regulations (TRs) and that are to be imported into the country have:
  • A valid product certificate. Having an AENOR Mark certificate for plastic products facilitates the issuance of the specific certificate in Arabia.
  • A shipping certificate, associated with a specific export invoice, which can also be issued by AENOR

Both certificates make up the demonstration of the conformity of the products with the local regulation, articulated by the technical regulations (TR) and the applicable standards.

Through the development of SALEEM, Saudi Arabia's product safety program, SASO has implemented an electronic conformity assessment platform called SABER. In this way, the procedures in the merchandise trade of all the products included in the specific technical regulations published by SASO are facilitated.

For this, prior registration in SABER of the products to be marketed within the local Saudi market is necessary. Once this is done, AENOR can help exporting companies to comply with all the technical requirements, necessary for the certification of the product and its entry into the country, acting as a body authorized by SASO.
