On 2017-11-10, SANAS (South African National Accreditation System) granted the first accreditation to AENOR as a product certification body in accordance with ISO / IEC 17065.
Subsequently, and thanks to the demand of the South African market and the trust placed in AENOR, that initial scope has been enlarged until reaching the current situation, culminated with the last accreditation granted last 2019-10-16 for the piping systems of C-PVC
The updated list of standards accredited by SANAS is as follows:
AENOR, which has currently issued 43 certificates to 18 companies under the SANAS accreditation, becomes the leading body in the certification of plastic piping systems for hot and cold water and heating installations according to SANS standards. being the only certification body accredited by SANAS at present (2020 january) that covers all products for hot and sanitary hot water, being the only accredited body for products marked with the *.
With this accreditation, the products bearing the AENOR Mark will have maximum recognition in the South African market by the different market agents, prescribers, administration and users.
At this moment, we are working on the development of the certification of new products in accordance with SANS standards, so the list of both accredited standards and issued certificates will soon be increased.
On the other hand, on 2020-01-10 ENAC enlarged our scope of accreditation by adding polyethylene (PE) accessories for water and sanitation conduction with pressure in accordance with UNE-EN 12201-1:2012, UNE-EN 12202-3:2012+A1 and ISO 4427-3:2007
Until 2020 january, AENOR has issued certificates to 251 companies located in 30 countries, thus positioning itself as a world leader in the certification of these products, with about 50 different plastic pipe systems for possible certification.
