AENOR grants its first certificate for a production center
in CHILE
Last 2016-04-12 AENOR granted to the company CROSSPIPE SYSTEMS, S.A. located in Antofagasta - Chile, the first certificate of conformity for "Crosslinked polyethylene (PE-X) pipes by the peroxide method for industrial applications," according to the technical specifications defined in the Certification Specific Rules RP 01.83.
To develop this new AENOR certification, it has been used the experience in the certification of pipes for hot water, although for industrial applications, pipes with bigger dimensions are produced. At the beginning, the range certified is until a diameter of 355 mm, hoping to reach much larger dimensions soon.
The market where CROSSPIPE will supply these pipes is the large mining facilities of the American Andes, northern Chile, southern Peru and parts of Bolivia. The characteristics of PEX, with its high resistance to abrasion and extreme temperatures, make this material suitable for this application.
This certification process began with the definition of the technical specification, the drafting of Specific Rules of Certification and the subsequent inspection, quality management system audit and testing in our laboratory CEIS.
Besides it is the first certificate for this product, it is also the first certificate for a plastic pipe with the production center in Chile, a fact that contributes to the internationalization of the AENOR Mark.
